Skills

Skills are your personal power. They level up by doing — there's nothing to grind in a menu, just play the game and your abilities sharpen on their own. Open them any time with /skills.

How Skills Work

Every action you take in the Cove feeds a matching skill. Mine ore and your Mining climbs. Loose arrows and your Archery climbs. Brew potions and your Alchemy climbs. You never click a button to train — the activity is the training.

  • /skills — opens your skill overview and lets you spend points
  • /skills profile — shows your totals, strengths, and where you've invested
  • /skills top — the server-wide leaderboard, for the competitive bees

Levels, Points & Perks

Each level you earn grants a point to spend in /skills on perks for that skill. There are two flavours of perk:

  • Passive perks are always-on. Hit harder, move easier, gather more, take less damage — they work in the background forever once unlocked.
  • Active abilities are powerful effects you trigger in the moment. They cost mana to use.

Mana

Mana is your ability fuel. Active abilities draw from your mana pool, and it regenerates on its own over time — no items, no rituals, just wait a beat and it refills. Spend it on the right ability at the right moment (a burst of damage on a boss, a gathering surge on a big haul) and you get effects no plain sword or pickaxe can match.

Spend points with intent

Points are yours to assign. Lean into the skills that match how you actually play — there's no wrong build, but a focused one feels far stronger than a scattered one.

Why Skills Matter

Skills stack underneath everything you do, so investing in them quietly improves your whole experience:

  • A high Mining skill turns every quarry run into a bigger, faster payday.
  • Fighting and Defense perks are what make dungeon bosses go from impossible to doable.
  • Farming and Foraging multiply the output of the farms and tree groves you were already tending.
  • Active abilities give you tools no item can — a damage burst, a gather surge, a clutch heal — all paid for with regenerating mana.

The longer you play, the more these compound. Skills aren't a side activity; they're the foundation everything else is built on.

Skills vs Jobs

Don't confuse the two. Jobs pay you — Gold and XP for activities you do. Skills empower you — passive boosts and active abilities that make you better at those same activities. They run side by side: do one mining session and you earn Gold from your Miner job and climb your Mining skill at the same time.
