Side Quests

Not every story in Paradise Cove is written on the Tablet. Tucked between the hives and the market stalls are people with their own troubles — a lost beekeeper, a gruff exile, an alchemist short a few pieces of his cauldron. Help them out, and the Cove rewards you for it.

These are optional adventures, separate from the main story. Do them in any order, take a break from the Founders' Trials, or chase them all down for the loot. Each one has its own flavor, its own faces, and its own pile of rewards.

How side quests work

Find the NPC, hear them out, follow the objective at the side of your screen, and return when it's done. Side quests don't block the main story — chase them whenever you like.

The Honey Slime Hunt — Theodore

Theodore in the honey hive
Theodore — half-lost in the honey at the base of the great tree.
The great hive at the base of the tree
The hive at the base of the great tree, where Theodore is trapped.

Theodore was a beekeeper once. Now he's half-lost, trapped in a slow hive of honey at the base of the great tree — and, as it turns out, the grandson of the Cove's founder, Myra. He tried to stabilise the Raw Nectar pooling beneath the roots and was overcome by it. He still warns anyone who'll listen about the bees, and he still talks about "Granny Myra" like she's just stepped out of the room.

His problem: his 40 Honey Slimes have escaped and scattered all across the Cove. Find them, and bring them back to Theodore.

What to do:

  1. Speak to Theodore at the base of the great tree.
  2. Hunt down his Honey Slimes wherever they've wandered.
  3. Return to him every 5 slimes to claim the next reward.

Reward milestones:

Slimes returnedReward
5A Gold reward
10An Experience Jar + a tidy sum of Gold
15An Enchanted Book
20A Mob Catcher (handy for catching more slimes)
25A Desert Dungeon Key
30A gear reward
35An Epic Crate Key
40A unique Honey Slime chat tag (wear it in /tags) + a Dungeon-Life

A heartfelt hunt

This is a long, lore-rich collectible quest. Take your time with it — the full 40 is a real commitment, and the final tag is one you won't see on many players.

Locations Discovery — Cedric the Cartographer

Cedric the Cartographer
Cedric, the Cove's Cartographer.

Cedric, the Cove's Cartographer, keeps track of every landmark on the map. As you explore, you discover and claim locations as permanent fast-travel points — the full mechanics live on the Locations & Discovery guide.

What to do: Discover and claim every location on the map (/locations, 500 Gold each). When the set is complete, return to Cedric — he opens up the Treasure Hunt below.

The Treasure Hunt — Waymaker's Path

Once you've claimed every location and spoken to Cedric, the old Waymakers' trail opens up. Long before the walls had names, they buried their fortunes around the Cove and left only a trail for those patient enough to follow it. Three caches still lie hidden out there.

What to do: Uncover all three buried treasures to complete the Waymaker's Path side quest.

Rewards:

  • A large Gold payout
  • Rare crafting materials — an Onyx Core, a Golden Saucer, and Polished Platinum
  • The unlocked recipe for the Wayfinder's Compass

Dwarven Bloodline — Danny the Dwarf

Danny the Dwarf
Danny the Dwarf — exiled, and nursing a grudge.

Danny is an exile — cast out of an old mining clan that refused to hand him the Dwarven Gemstone, the heart of an ancient transformation ring that's rightfully part of his bloodline. He's been stewing about it for years, and he's decided you're the one to set it right.

What to do:

  1. Hear Danny's story. He sends you off to the dwarves with roughly 15,000 Gold in mind.
  2. Visit Brokk, the clan's gold-obsessed overseer. He promptly hikes the price to 20,000 Gold ("inflation," he grumbles). Pay him for the Dwarf Ring Gem.
  3. Return to Danny. Bad news — the ring's band was buried when the Hive spread through the old tunnels. You'll need a chunk of genuine dwarven alloy; take it to Anvil Andy to reforge the band.

Anvil Andy the blacksmith
Anvil Andy — the smith who reforges the ring's band.
4. Danny fits the gem into the band, etches the runes, and hands you a finished **Dwarf Ring** — a unique accessory all your own.

Mind the dwarves

Danny's all bluster and grudges; Brokk would sell his own beard if the price was right. Expect a lot of muttering about gold.

The Alchemist's Cauldron — Aldric

Aldric the Alchemist
Aldric, the Cove's Alchemist.

Aldric, the Cove's Alchemist, is rebuilding his shattered cauldron. Help him gather the pieces — a fragment Vaise spotted, the last one guarded by the Miner's Wrath in the Abandoned Mine, and 10 Dungeon Souls — and you'll unlock the ability to brew your own tonics.

Full quest + tonic list

The Alchemist's questline and the five tonics you unlock have their own page now. See The Alchemist for the full walkthrough and the tonic effects.

Octavius the Enchanter

Octavius the Enchanter
Octavius — the Cove's enchanter, down in his lair.
Octavius's enchanted library
Octavius's enchanted library — where the Cove's custom enchantment books are made.

Down in his lair, Octavius pores over the mystic arts and crafts custom enchantment books found nowhere else in the Cove. He'll take you on as his enchanting apprentice — enchant your gear, and he pays you for the work. He's also the one who sets the Chapter II questline in motion, so a visit pays off twice over.

Custom enchantments

Octavius deals in enchantments you won't find on a vanilla table. See the full list on the enchantments page.

More side quests are waiting out in the Cove — keep an eye out for a troubled face or an odd request, and you'll usually find a story (and a reward) behind it. When you're ready to return to the bigger picture, the Founders' Trials continue in Chapter II — pick the thread back up on the story page.
